Antique Art Deco bi colour crystal glass bead drop necklace.

Circa 1930’s.

This stunning Art Deco necklace has been designed way back in the 30’s with jonquil yellow glass bobble beads with five faceted glass crystal, bi-colour peach / green droplets.

The beads glow bright green under UV light due to the presence of Uranium.

An exquisite example of a true Art Deco beaded glass necklace.

About Uranium Glass -

Uranium glass / crystals glow a vibrant, bright green under a blacklight / UV light.
Uranium, usually in Oxide Diuranate form was added to a glass mix before melting to result in a beautiful green colour. Naturally Uranium glass in direct sunlight will give of a fluorescent green colour and due to it's glowing properties under UV light Uranium glass has become highly collectible today.
Uranium can be found in green glass, yellow glass and even white and blue glass although the majority is green.
