Handmade Czech glass blue Uranium bead necklace.

This stunning necklace has been meticulously made using vintage blue Uranium glass beads with gold plated accents and chain.

The beads have the presence of Uranium and glow an intense green under UV light.

Length - 17” with a 2” extender chain.
Largest bead - 16mm
Clasp/metal - gold tone

This piece of jewellery has been handmade using vintage components and vintage beads / crystals.

About Uranium Glass -

Uranium glass / crystals glow a vibrant, bright green under a blacklight / UV light.
Uranium, usually in Oxide Diuranate form was added to a glass mix before melting to result in a beautiful green colour. Naturally Uranium glass in direct sunlight will give of a fluorescent green colour and due to it's glowing properties under UV light Uranium glass has become highly collectible today.
Uranium can be found in green glass, yellow glass and even white and blue glass although the majority is green.
