Stunning Silver Plate Uranium glass oval cut crystal solitaire ring.

A beautiful Silver Plated ring, prong set with a faceted large 14x10mm oval cut Uranium glass crystal.

The green crystal is a vintage Swarovski Element and glows intensely under a UV light. The ring setting is new Silver Plate.

About Uranium Glass -

Uranium glass / crystals glow a vibrant, bright green under a blacklight / UV light.
Uranium, usually in Oxide Diuranate form was added to a glass mix before melting to result in a beautiful green colour. Naturally Uranium glass in direct sunlight will give of a fluorescent green colour and due to it's glowing properties under UV light Uranium glass has become highly collectible today.
Uranium can be found in green glass, yellow glass and even white and blue glass although the majority is green.
