Handmade blue and yellow bead Uranium glass necklace.

This stunning necklace has been handmade using genuine Art Deco 1930's glass beads in a design of primarily yellow and blue glass beads.

The yellow glass beads are made with the presence of Uranium and glow an intense, bright green under a UV light.

Finished with a gold plated clasp.

About Uranium Glass -

Uranium glass / crystals glow a vibrant, bright green under a blacklight / UV light.
Uranium, usually in Oxide Diuranate form was added to a glass mix before melting to result in a beautiful green colour. Naturally Uranium glass in direct sunlight will give of a fluorescent green colour and due to it's glowing properties under UV light Uranium glass has become highly collectible today.
Uranium can be found in green glass, yellow glass and even white and blue glass although the majority is green.
