Vintage Art Deco Max Neiger glass bead Uranium necklace.

Circa. 1930’sc- 1940’s.

This stunning necklace is a typical beaded design from the Max Neiger brothers.
Pressed cream glass beads with carved effect details in an Egyptian style.

The beads glow green under UV light suggesting the presence of Uranium.

There is no clasp on this necklace.

About Uranium Glass -

Uranium glass / crystals glow a vibrant, bright green under a blacklight / UV light.
Uranium, usually in Oxide Diuranate form was added to a glass mix before melting to result in a beautiful green colour. Naturally Uranium glass in direct sunlight will give of a fluorescent green colour and due to it's glowing properties under UV light Uranium glass has become highly collectible today.
Uranium can be found in green glass, yellow glass and even white and blue glass although the majority is green.
