Fabulous vintage rolled gold Uranium glass ring.

Circa 1940’s.

Beautifully claw set with a green faceted emerald cut stone measuring 8x6mm wide and a clear crystal at each side.

The main stone has a gorgeous green glow under UV / blacklight. I have used a 395nm uv torch for the photos.

About Uranium Glass -

Uranium glass / crystals glow a vibrant, bright green under a blacklight / UV light.
Uranium, usually in Oxide Diuranate form was added to a glass mix before melting to result in a beautiful green colour. Naturally Uranium glass in direct sunlight will give of a fluorescent green colour and due to it's glowing properties under UV light Uranium glass has become highly collectible today.
Uranium can be found in green glass, yellow glass and even white and blue glass although the majority is green.
